The Revival of Ema Savahl

With the recent surge of trends from the early noughties, many brands who dropped off the radar after their 10 minutes of 00's fame have seen a resurgence in the popularity of their archival pieces. One of these designers is Ema Savahl, a New York based designer who, in 1996, began designing dresses embellished with 3D hand-painted clay flowers, often topped with Swarovski gems. It was this unique twist that saw Ema rise to fame in the early 2000's and saw her pieces worn by the likes of Paris Hilton, Lil Kim, Sophia Vergara, and Jennifer Lopez.

Although Ema Savahl is still around today, it is their vintage, mesh, embellished dresses and sets that have the fashion elite in a frenzy, with some selling on Depop for over $10,000. When I learned about Ema Savahl and her amazing designs earlier in the year, I had to source some and over time I found three, all imported from the States! As well as this, I became a new fan of her current pieces. As well as beautifully intricate tops, skirts and dresses, Ema also sticks true to her clay flower roots, creating mesh bikini's decorated with the iconic embellishment.
